A few months ago, our developers released a feature that allows each listing to have multiple agents assigned to it — one Primary and one or more Secondary Agents. This also tied in quite closely with permissions, allowing Primary Agents the ability to dictate permissions for “other” agents. In this sense, we allowed a listing’s Primary Agent to become the person responsible for a listing.
Our much awaited follow-up to this is Bulk Claiming and Assignment of Listings. As the name implies, this allows an agent to claim or assign many listings at once. In addition, we also implemented Bulk Claim Limits, an optional feature that allows Administrators and Owners to limit the number of listings an agent can claim at once.

These settings can be accessed from the permission settings page, located at Account > Settings > Permissions, and the user limit can be set on the Account > Settings > Users > [User ID] page. Administrators have a choice when it comes to how many units an agent can claim. They can either set it to none, unlimited, or a custom amount.
Bulk actions are available on the Units Search page in the…well, in the Bulk Actions drop down menu. If the user is an administrator or has been given permission to assign listings to other agents, the dropdown will contain the option “Set Primary Agent.” If the user is not allowed to assign listings to other agents, then the option says “Claim as Primary Agent.”
If the agent cannot claim a listing for any reason, a pop-up will deny the user the ability to complete the bulk action and explains why.
An additional option that users will notice in the drop down that there is also a “Remove as Assigned Agent(s)” option. This allows for bulk removal of all agents from specific listings.
Finally, we’ve also added an optional Bulk Claim Time Limit feature that owners and administrators can set. If turned on, agents have a specific number of hours to update a listing in a significant way (ad title, description, photos) or else all agents assigned to that listing are unassigned, leaving the listing wide open to be claimed by someone else who hopefully will put that listing to good use.
As you’ll see in the image above, if the second setting is checked, new agents are sent a condensed email notification informing them of assignment changes as they’re made.
